The
components
In
a kitchen the storage units are the basic elements.
Bear in mind that all the other components of
the kitchen are fixed to them: doors, hinges,
drawer runners, worktops, sinks, glass panels
and finishing elements. |

These
are the real structure of the kitchen. Their durability
in time depends directly on the quality of the
glues and the materials that have been used. Oikos
uses polyurethane glues with high resistance to
humidity and heat. Oikos also offers two types
of carcass: melamine laminated made with ecological
panels complying with European E1 regulating standards
on toxic emissions or, upon request, in multi-layer
plywood, lighter and more resistant. The thickness
of the panels used for the structure plays an
important role in the overall quality of the product:  Oikos
uses only 18mm thick panels.

these
determine the real "look" of a kitchen: depending
on the colours and materials chosen completely
different esthetical results can be obtained with
the same model. You can tell a good door from
the way it's made, how well sealed it is, its
lightness and the great variety of covering materials
that can be used to personalize it.There are many
different types of finish: wood-framed, plain
wood, laminated, gloss and matt lacquered MDF,
aluminium, stainless steel, glass and polymeric.
On its doors Oikos only uses glues and varnishes
that strictly comply with current health regulations. |

Pull-out
baskets and drawers can be fully or partially extractable.Oikos
suggests using fully extracting versions to allow the
best access. The pull-out units slide on very resistant,
long lasting metal runners. The drawers as well as the
baskets can be fitted with compartments for different
uses. On baskets larger than 90 cm Oikos provides a
stabilizing bar, assuring even sliding without any basket
imbalances. |

The
hinges fitted by Oikos are tested for
tens of thousands of openings.Normally there are two types
of openings: 110° and 180°.
Oikos uses
hinges that make the doors very easy to remove. All
that's needed is a slight pressure on the springs positioned
at the end and then pull-outwards to unhook the door
from the carcass.
